Student Association Members Present and Publish at SMTS International Conference

Two members of the Széll Kálmán International Scientific Student Association, Csenge Kálmán and Gergő László Novák, delivered presentations at the international scientific conference Sustainable Mobility and Transportation Symposium, held in Győr on October 8, 2026. Both research papers were also published in the scientific journal Engineering Proceedings.

The conference, hosted by Széchenyi István University, provided an opportunity to discuss current research questions in transportation, mobility, and engineering sciences. During the event, our Association members presented their research examining different applications of artificial intelligence.

Csenge Kálmán, in her presentation titled “Artificial Intelligence in Technical Project Management: A Critical Incident Study,” explored the role of artificial intelligence in technical project management. Based on interviews with project managers, the research investigated how artificial intelligence can support project planning, task execution, and decision-making, as well as the challenges that may arise during its practical implementation.

Gergő László Novák, in his presentation titled “Comparative Evaluation of Baseline and Retrieval-Augmented Generative AI Chatbot Architectures for Customer Support Use Cases,” analysed the performance of customer service chatbots based on generative artificial intelligence. The study compared conventional generative AI models with models using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), paying particular attention to the accuracy and reliability of responses to customer service enquiries.

Both studies were co-authored by András Aschenbrenner, a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of Regional Sciences and Business Administration, who is also a member of the Széll Kálmán International Scientific Student Association.

Both papers presented at the conference were published in the international, open-access scientific journal Engineering Proceedings. Through these publications, the results of research conducted within the Association have become accessible to the wider international scientific community.
